XR Workshops & Teaching

Virtual Fruits is an educational extended reality (XR) initiative run
by Paula Strunden and Alex Anderson since 2018.

Together with students and immersive enthusiasts from all age groups, we create tactile virtual, augmented and mixed reality environments and explore new forms of multi-sensorial computational architecture and design.

In our workshops we mix cutting edge technologies with analogue drawing and DIY making tools. The participants outputs range from 360 stop-motion films to location-based VR installations to 3D printed virtual sketches and hand-crafted MR sculptures.

We deliver one-day VR, AR and MR workshops in London and abroad, teach summer schools, after-school-clubs, university courses and collaborate on bespoke projects with individuals and cultural institutions, such as Whitechapel Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, Zabludowicz Collection and Het Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam.

Our past collaborators and co-tutors include Jack Clay, Kuba Jekiel, Silvan Gottschal, Kirsty McMullen, Thomas Parker, Sofia Strunden, Fabian Strunden, Marie Walker-Smith, Kevin Smeeing and Joasia Zabielska.
